SAP E-Book

In this activity, you define which simplified configuration attributes are available in the system.

You can define where the fields are stored in the one order framework if an attribute is used in a product sold in a ontract.

Using the generic storage, the values are saved to the database in name value pairs. This is the easiest and fastest way of storing the configuration. It is also the only method of doing so without having to add new simplified configuration attributes. You do not need development authorization to do this. You simply require a data element in the dictionary with the correct data type for your new field.

The generated enhancements take up less space on the database and you can reuse existing enhancements that you have created in earlier releases.

You can assign appointment fields, such as the contract duration directly.

You can also define a default behavior (for example, visibility and mandatory) for the field, which can be redefined in the product definition.

If you are using the generic storage, you can now start maintaining the attributes.

If you want to use the generated enhancements in the one order framework, you must first generate the enhancement. You also need to assign the enhancements to the item types you want to use.

To assign a new field, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. Assign the new fields a parameter name. Amongst other things, this is used for replication in the backend. Do not use more than 25 characters if you want to use the attribute in BRFplus functions.
  3. In the Textfield, enter a descriptive text.
  4. If you are using generic storage: Assign a data element to the data element field.
If you are using generated enhancements:
In the Business Transaction Components field, select the business transaction component for the relevant set type and the field name of the new field.
For appointments:
Go to the detailed view of the new field.
Choose the 'APPOINTMENT' component and choose Enter.
Make entries in the Date Type and Field Name fields.
For individual prices:
Go to the detailed view of the new field.
Choose the 'ISU_PRICES' component and choose Enter.
Make entries in the Price Typeand Price Condition Line fields. The configuration attribute is linked to the corresponding price entry (with the matching price type and condition line) in the price extension ISU_PRICES.
Remark: The configuration attribute always references the newest price version of the quotation item in the sales process. Therefore, the configuration attribute can only reference existing price versions; a new price version is not created implicitly by the simplified configuration

Once you have made these settings, the new field can be assigned to products.

You can also make the following settings in the activity:

  • In the Visibilityfield, you can define the visibility of fields. You can choose from the following entries in the input help:
  • Product- The field is displayed according to the product.

We recommend using this default option.
You must assign the attribute to the products in which you want to use it.
  • Always- The field is displayed for all contracts and quotations.

We recommend that you do not use this value, since problems can occur if you create new products where you do not want to usethese attributes.
This option is not fully supported in the PMU (Product Modelling for Utilities) and PFC (Product Finder and Configurator) with activated business function CRM_UT_ER_3.
  • Item Cat. - The field is only displayed for a specific item category.
We recommend that you do not use this value, since problems can occur if you create new products where you do not want to use these attributes. This option is not fully supported in the PMU (Product Modelling for Utilities) and PFC (Product Finder and Configurator) with activated business function CRM_UT_ER_3.

If you choose this option, the field must be allocated to the corresponding item categories. You allocate fields to item categories in this activity under Item Categories -> Allocation of Attributes.
  • Not Visible - The field is not displayed

  • In the Changeabilityfield, you can determine whether and under what circumstances a field can be overwritten.
This is only a default and can be changed in the product modeling.

You can choose from the following entries in the input help:
  • Display Only - The field cannot be overwritten

  • Modifiable- The field can be overwritten

  • When a Contract is Created - The field can only be overwritten for a new contract

  • When an Item is Created - The field can only be overwritten for a new item

  • Default allows you to assign a default value to a field based on a product.
You can only set the value if the value is initial, or every time the product is changed.
This is not relevant for BRFplus functions.
  • BRFplus-Relevant
This checkbox is only relevant for complex conditions used in SAP CRM 7.0 Enhancement Package 1. We do not recommend using complex conditions in releases as of SAP CRM 7.0 Enhancement Package 2.
Select this checkbox if you want to manually assign attributes to BRFplus functions.
If you select the checkbox, the field is assigned the context of all new applications.
You do not need to select the checkbox,if you always generate functions from product maintenance.
Product maintenance automatically assigns the selected attributes to the application context.
  • Currency
You can assign a currency to the field used for input help and error messages.
  • Base Unit
You can assign a base unit to the field used for input help and error messages.
  • Generic Display
Choose
  • View ID
You can assign a view ID, which is used to group the attributes in the generic UI.

This is only a default and can be changed in the product modeling.
  • Long Text
You can assign a long text to the field. This long text is visible as a quick info text for the attribute name in the generic UI.
  • Value Help Function
You can assign an input help function, which is used as a default function assignment for new assignments of attributes to products.
  • Value Check Function
You can assign a value check function, which is used as a default function assignment for new assignments of attributes to products.
