You can use this IMG activity to define the inheriting relationship types for a generation formula.

You have maintained an availability profile in the generation formula for which you want to maintain the inheriting relationship types.

If you want to use the standard logic, you do not have to maintain anything. The default behavior is as follows:

  • If no availability profile is maintained for a generation formula or if an intellectual property (IP) does not have a generation formula, availability profile 0DEFis used.
  • If availability profile 0DEFor 1DEFis used for the calculation of an IP, and no inheriting relationship types are maintained with the generation formula, the profile uses the following relationship types:
  • IP Part to inherit the Rights Out, for example, to inherit the rights out from a Series to the linked Seasons, and from a Season to the linked Episodes - this means the Episode inherits the Rights Out from the Season it belongs to, and the Season inherits the Rights Outfrom the Series it belongs to.

  • Package Partto inherit the Rights Outfrom a Package to the Part

This logic is used during rights availability analysis as well as during collision check for determining the Rights Out.

Maintain the relationship types you want to inherit rights during the calculation.
