In this Customizing activity, you can define a briefcase, which contains a collection of briefing cards that provide an overview of relevant information of your choosing. You can assign each briefing card to one or more briefcases.

You have defined any necessary UI components, inbound plugs, outbound plugs, and windows for the briefing card in the BSP WD Workbench (transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB).

  • Under Define Briefing Cards, enter an ID, a description, and the UI component for the briefing card.
  • Under Assign Actions, choose an action (for example, read-only mode) and enter the relevant inbound plug and window.
  • Under Define Briefing Card Outbound Plugs, define any relevant outbound plugs for your component that you would like to be available to the briefcase.
You can use an outbound plug to enable navigation from a briefing card.
  • Under Define Briefcases, enter an ID and a description for the briefcase.
  • Under Assign Briefing Cards, define the following for each briefing card to be displayed in the briefcase:
  • An ID for the logical link between the briefcase and the briefing card

  • The briefing card ID

  • A path to an icon if you would like one to be displayed

  • A label for the briefing card link

This link is displayed on the left-hand side of the briefcase and used to navigate to the briefing card.
  • The sequence in which you would like the briefing cards to appear in the briefcase

  • The briefing card to be displayed by default when the briefcase is opened

  • Under Define Briefcase Profiles, enter a function profile ID and a description.
  • Under Assign Briefcases, define the following:
  • An ID for the logical link between the briefcase and the briefcase profile

  • The briefcase ID

  • The height determination method

Under Overflow, choose Automaticif you would like the height of the briefcase to change based on the height of each briefing card, or Fixedif you would like the height to be fixed.
  • A height for the briefcase

  • After defining your briefcase profile, assign it to the relevant business role in the Customizing activity Define Business Role.To do so, ensure that the function profile BRIEFCASE has been assigned to the business role, and under Profile Value, enter the name of your newly created briefcase profile.
