In this activity, you define the criteria and the profiles for the detailed comparison in the Product Finder and Configurator (PFC).

You must first create the criteria for the detailed comparison, which have the following characteristics:

  • ID of the criterion
This ID is subsequently assigned to a profile to display this criterion on the user interface.
  • Description
The description explains the business background of each criterion and is subsequently displayed on the user interface.
  • Value Path A
This attribute contains the path in the object model used to access the first value to be displayed on the user interface for the criterion.
  • Value Path B
This attribute contains the path in the object model used to access the second value to be displayed on the user interface for the criterion.
  • Value Path C
This attribute contains the path in the object model used to access the third value to be displayed on the user interface for the criterion.
  • More Details
This attribute indicates whether the criterion is displayed in the upper hierarchy level. If the checkbox is selected, the criterion is displayed at a lower level.
  • Is Link
This attribute indicates whether the value of this criterion should be displayed as a link.
  • Event ID
This attribute contains the event that is raised if the value of the criterion is displayed as a link.
  • Design
This attribute contains the attribute design and indicates whether this attribute is rendered in bold or in italic.

You now have to create a profile for the detailed comparison with the following characteristics:

  • Profile ID
This attribute is the key of a profile that is subsequently assigned to a PFC profile.
  • Profile Description
This attribute describes the business background in more detail.
  • Tree Profile Group ID
This attribute defines the tree profile group that is used to display the products and packages in the detailed comparison. You make the settings for the tree profile groups in Customizing for Customer Relationship Managementunder Industry-Specific Solutions → Utilities Industries → Settings for User Interfaces → General Functions -> Define Object Hierarchy and Object Attributes.
  • External Object Name
This attribute defines the technical object name of the root object that must be used in the detailed comparison.
  • Maximum number of items to be displayed
This attribute indicates the maximum number of products and packages that can be compared at once.
  • Add Items
This attribute indicates whether one click actions or table buttons should be used to add products and packages to the detailed comparison.

You also have to assign several criteria to each detailed comparison profile to display these fields on the user interface.
