In this Customizing activity, you define how the system determines the proposals it provides for a transaction, to identify related knowledge articles.

You relate a transaction to the transaction for knowledge articles, and select the Text Determination Procedure and the Text Type of the knowledge article. This text will then appear in the search result list of the system proposals for related knowledge articles.

You can also specify the knowledge article status to limit the search results, for example, to restrict proposals to knowledge articles that have status Published.

You have made the following settings in Customizing:

• Source Transaction Type: ITIN (Incident)

• Target Transaction Type: KNAR (Knowledge Article)

• Text Determination Procedure: KNOWARTI

• Text Type: S004 (Solution Description)

In Service, you create an incident and choose the Suggest Knowledge Articles pushbutton in assignment block Related Knowledge Articles.

All knowledge articles are displayed with the appropriate text, which is shortened to 40 characters.
