In this Customizing activity, you can enter or change key text values for standard causal factor fields and for causal factor fields that you create on the WebClient UI.

In the market development funds (MDF) scenario, you can choose to make a causal factor field a free text field. Afterwards, you can enter any text into the corresponding causal factor field on the WebClient UI.

You have created new causal factor fields on the WebClient UI in order to enter or change key text values for customer defined causal factor fields. For more information on creating causal factor fields using the extensibility function of the WebClient UI, see SAP Library for SAP Customer Relationship Management on SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com/crm -> SAP CRM -> Application Help -> SAP Customer Relationship Management -> Partner Channel Management -> Market Development Funds -> Causal Factors for MDF -> Creating Causal Factor Fields with Extensibility.

Note that the system only displays customer created causal factor fields in alpha-numeric format in Customizing.

Only the following causal factor field types are free text by default (applicable to the MDF scenario only):

  • Currency
  • Date
  • Time

  1. Create a new entry and select a causal factor field. Note that you cannot select a standard causal factor field already defined in the Customizing activity Define Values for MDF Standard Causal Factors.
  2. Enter the key text values for the chosen causal factor field.

Note: If the selected causal factor field is defined as a free text field, then you cannot enter a value for this field in Customizing.

  1. You create a new causal factor field called Ad Type on the WebClient UI using the extensibility function.
  2. In this Customizing activity, you select the new causal factor field Ad Type that you previously created on the WebClient UI.
  3. In this Customizing activity, you enter 001 and 002 for the causal factor field keys and Print and Web Page for the causal factor field key texts, respectively.
  4. The new causal factor field Ad Type appears on the WebClient UI in the Causal Factor assignment block with a dropdown list containing the options Print and Web Page.
