CRMVC_MKTPL_FIXTZ - Define Fixed Time Zone Conversion

In this IMG activity, you can define that for certain marketing project object classes, a fixed time zone should be used for conversion of date and time fields to and from the internal database timestamp. This means that the UTC time zone is always used for the corresponding marketing project.

This is usually done if dates are to be handled consistently across time zones and no time is to be considered at all.

Note: This option should be initially set and never been changed due to the following reasons:

• It could lead to side effects if marketing projects with and without fix time zone conversions are in the system.

• The search can only consider one timezone as conversion basis. Thus, it can happen that not all marketing projects are found.

If you're migrating to this new release with existing data it is not recommended to change this setting since the old data is still based on the local time zone conversion. Here, you should check whether a converting of the existing data is reasonable.

You can activate the fix time zone conversion for different object classes. An entry with an empty object class is handled as fallback solution meaning this is taken into account if there is no specific entry for the requested object class.

The search tries to get a unique definition here. If this cannot uniquely be done (for example, since you defined different settings for the requested object classes), the entry with the empty object class is taken into account. If this does not exist, the standard conversion with the local time zone is done.

Note: If different settings for different object classes are used, it can lead to unexpected results when searching across different object classes due to time zone used for conversion. In such cases, recommendation is to restrict object search by object classes having the same setting.
