In this activity, you can group screen elements to application sets, such as: Toolbar Groups, Tab Page Groups and Search Groups. This procedure permits the re-use of screen elements in several applications.

An application set usually displays a business object, for example a business partner. You can assign as many applications as you wish to an application set. If you create a new application, the elements of an application set can be combined with each other, and used again.

Create Application Set

  1. Choose New Entries.
  2. In the Application Set column, enter an identifier.
  3. Enter a description in the Description column.

Assign Toolbar Groups

  2. Choose Toolbar in the dialog structure.
  3. Choose New Entries.
  4. Using the input help, choose all toolbar groups that you wish to assign to the application set, and save your setting.

Assign Tab Page Groups

  2. Choose Tabstrip in the dialog structure.

Assign Model Access Class

  1. Select an application set.
  2. Choose Model Access in the dialog structure.
  3. Choose New Entries.
  4. Enter data. The fields are as follows:
  • Structure Name: Enter the structure name of the DDIC that you want to use in this application set.

  • Access Class: Enter the name of the Model Access Class that you have implemented.

  • Structure Type: The identifier of the type of structure, specifies how this model is used. The identifier is necessary to make sure that objects do not block each other. You must also specify a reference name (unique name, that you can define), and if necessary, a parent name (reference name of the higher- level structure) according to the structure type. There are four structure types:
Root Structure: All structures that are displayed as a search result should be of this type.
Main Structure: All structures that can set locks on an object should be of this type. All root structures are automatically main structures.
Dependent Structure: All structures that are neither main structures nor root structures.
Search Structure: All structures the attributes of which are used as search parameters.

  • Reference Name: The structure reference name of a model is used to structure a model in a tree-structure.

  • Parent Name: The parent name specifies which structure in a model has been assinged a subordinate node. In this way, it is possible to model a tree structure.
