You use this activity to define settings for E-Mail notifications in user management. You can indicate if you want to inform the business partner when you

  • Create a new user
  • Change the password of a user
  • Lock or unlock a user and
  • Delete a user

Note: when you change the password of a user, the new password is displayed in the notification mail. To hide the password, see section Activity below.

To automatically send notifications when you change user details and save, maintain a smart form template in the Notification Template column.

Also maintain a valid E-Mail address for the user making changes to user details of a company contact (brand owner) or partner contact (channel partner). The notification mails are sent from this address.

You can either use the default notification template CRM_BP_UM_EMAIL_TEMPLATE or create your own.

To create and use your own notification template, do the following:

1. Use transaction SMARTFORMS

2. Select radio button Form.

3. Enter template CRM_BP_UM_EMAIL_TEMPLATE and choose Copy

4. Save the template by entering a different name as the Target Object. Make the necessary changes and save.

5. Set this new template as the Notification Template.

To hide the password that is displayed in the notification, do the following:

1. Use transaction SMARTFORMS

2. Enter template in field Form. Choose Change.

3. Edit text element TEXT_USER_PASSWORD_CHANGE and save changes.

To change the name of the sender in the notification, do the following:

1. Use transaction SMARTFORMS

2. Enter notification template. For e.g., the default template CRM_BP_UM_EMAIL_TEMPLATE. Choose Change

3. In the navigation pane, click Form CRM_BP_UM_EMAIL_TEMPLATE → Global Settings.

4. Under tab Global Data, maintain the required signature as default value of variable GV_SENDER_NAME

Note: The system uses the name you maintain here as the sender name in the notification email. The notification is sent from the email address you maintain in Customizing activity Set Up Web-Based User Management.
