In this activity you define the parameter keys with which you can set up parameters for your rules. Using these parameters you enhance the key fields of a rule to define application-specific requirements. The setting of parameters affects the business level of a business transaction. You can, for instance, define that an event is triggered if a certain entry is made in field Division or in the terms of delivery. In other words, you set up the division or the terms of delivery as a parameter for a rule.

The parameter keys can be defined freely. It is possible for a key to cover several tables. A test is only started and, if necessary, an event triggered if entries are made in these tables.

You set parameters for the BRF rules yourself in the Customizing activity Configure Business Rule Framework.

In order for events that can be parameterized to be processed correctly during the program flow, determine assignment class CL_CRM_BRF_DET_ASST_RL_RS must be assigned to them in the header data. The implementing class in CRM specifies this class by default; you can, however, overwrite it.

Before you create a new parameter key, the following prerequisites must be met:

  • You have created a database table in the ABAP Dictionary ("Occurrence Table for Parameter Key").
  • You have created a new structure in the ABAP Dictionary, and included it in the table.
