In this activity you make settings for conflict resolution. These settings determine how the system responds if there are overlapping conflicts during the condition generation process.

Conflict resolution will be defined for each condition generation type.

There are three possible settings:

• New condition records always have priority.
  This is the default value. In this situation, any new condition records overwrite those that already exist if there is an overlap.

• In case of conflict, do not create new records.
  Here the system does not create any new condition records if these overlap with records that already exist.

• Create new condition records if not overlapping
  System creates new condition records as long as they do not overlap with existing condition records.

A condition record exists that is valid from 01/10 until 01/15. A new condition record is generated that is valid from 01/01 until 01/20. Depending on which setting you choose, the result would be as follows:

• Option 1: The system creates a new condition record valid from 01/01 until 01/20

• Option 2: The system does not create a new condition record. The existing one is used.

• Option 3: The system creates a new condition record from 01/01 until 01/09 and then another one valid as of the 01/16 until 01/20.
