CRMV_CLA_EXT_REF - Define Mapping for External Reference Types

In this Customizing activity, you map a SAP CRM external reference type to a process that uses an external reference. Different external references can be added to documents in SAP CRM and SAP ERP in various processes. This mapping ensures that the correct external reference is transferred, for example, from a SAP ERP dispute case to a SAP CRM claim submission.

Note: If you have not made entries in this Customizing activity, the external references you add to your documents will not be transferred to the various documents used in claims processing.

You have made the following Customizing settings:

• Defined external reference types in Define External References

• Assigned external reference types to an external reference profile in Define Reference Profiles

• Assigned an external reference profile to a claims transaction type in Assign Reference Profiles to Transaction Type

Note: If you need to extract the external reference type to BW, you have customized this in Define Extraction of External References.

You have received an invoice related to a deduction. The invoice has an external reference that the customer is using to identify the claim. You create the claim submission in SAP CRM and in the Additional External Referencesassignment block, you choose Claims Management External Reference as the Ext. Reference Type and enter AABB1234 as the Ext. Reference ID.

In this Customizing activity, you have mapped the external reference type used in claims management to the billing process external reference, to have the reference number carried through to CRM Billing.
