SAP E-Book

In this activity you define the hierarchical attributes, which you require to represent your business processes.

The hierarchy recorded for the respective attribute is available to you as possible entries during product and contract processing and during the rights availability analysis.

Note: You can assign an existing hierarchy for a hierarchical attribute to attributes if the information covers both attributes. The hierarchy for the higher-level attribute is then inherited by the lower-level attribute.

You have maintained the product attributes and assigned the respective value tables.
You have maintained the authorizations required (CRM_IPMHIR) to maintain hierarchical attributes.

  • When creating attributes, you must observe the restrictions that apply to value tables and value text tables for hierarchical attributes.

You have defined the Market and Made for Market characteristics. Both characteristics should be based on the same hierarchy.

  1. You maintain the Market and Made for Market attributes in the SAP Easy Access Menu and assign the same value tables to the attributes.
  2. Define the Market attribute as a hierarchical attribute in this IMG activity by using the New Entries button to include it in the table.
  3. Use the Hierarchical Attribute Without a Separate Hierarchy to assign the Made for Market attribute below the Market attribute.
  4. You maintain the hierarchy for the Market attribute in the SAP Easy Access Menu.
  • Choose the following in the SAP Menu: Industries -> Media: Intellectual Property Management -> Master Data

Maintain Hierarchical Attributes.

Result: The system makes the same hierarchy available as possible entries for the Market and Made for Market attributes.
