In this Customizing activity, you can create and edit prepaid schemas. You use prepaid schemas to define which attributes you want a prepaid contract account to include and which values can be entered in the prepaid fields.

Depending on the prepaid schema used, different values can be permitted as the minimum balance, for example. By defining these values, you can control whether a specific service is interrupted when the balance reaches 0 or whether a balance below 0 is to be permitted for certain prepaid scenarios.

You must assign the prepaid schema to a product in product maintenance via the payment group. The assignment of a prepaid schema to a payment group is done in the customizing activity Define Payment Groups for Order Capturing. The schema then controls how prepaid data is entered during order capture according to the product that it is assigned to.

  1. Define Rules for Amount Fields. For each rule, you can allow amounts in one of the following ways:
    1. Define a list of allowed amounts. The system displays these values in a dropdown list box during capturing of prepaid data.
    2. Allow a user-defined value within a certain number range by entering a minimum amount and a maximum amount.
  2. Define Prepaid Schemas. Create and edit your schemas and assign the rules that you have defined to the amount fields of the prepaid schema.
If the prepaid balance falls below the value entered under Rule for Minimum Balance, the service is interrupted (for example, the phone call is disconnected). Under Notifications you specify threshold amounts for sending notifications: If the prepaid account falls below the amount defined here, a notification can be sent to inform the customer.

For both the minimum balance and the notification amount fields you can also specify a default amount in the prepaid schema. The system uses this as the pre-defined value for the prepaid field on the user interface.

If you have specified default amounts under Notifications, you can display these default amounts on the user interface only when you have activated the Notify by Default checkbox.

You can use the prepaid schema as a criterion for different user interface layouts during UI configuration. For a certain schema you can, for example, specify that only a data subset can be changed on the user interface or you can make certain fields available on the user interface only in display mode to limit which fields can be changed.
