In this activity, you define the search profiles for the enhanced product proposal. A search profile has the following characteristics:

  • It defines the Business Object Layer (BOL) query that is used to search for products.
  • It defines the BOL query that is used to search for packages.
  • It defines whether the products and / or packages will be searched in the system.
  • It defines whether or not the RTOM (Real-Time Offer Management) integration is active. Independent from whether the RTOM integration is active the products and / or packages will additionally be searched in the system. For more information about the RTOM integration, read the documentation provided in the Customizing node RTOM Integration.
  • It defines whether the customer consumption segments are used in order to find the products and packages.
  • It defines the tree profile group that is used to display the result lists and/or trees of the found products and/or packages.
You make the settings for the tree profile groups in Customizing for Customer Managementunder Industry-Specific Solutions -> Utility Industries -> Settings for User Interfaces -> General Functions -> Define Object Hierarchy and Object Attributes.
  • It defines the tree profile group that is used to display the result tree of the found RTOM offers. You make the settings for the tree profile groups in Customizing for Customer Managementunder Industry-Specific Solutions -> Utility Industries -> Settings for User Interfaces -> General Functions -> Define Object Hierarchy and Object Attributes.

Each search profile can be assigned to a business role using the function profile IUPROD_SEARCH. For example, the search profile UTIL is assigned to business role UTIL_IC.

Additionally, you have to assign several search criteria to each search profile in order to make these fields visible on the user interface. For each search criterion, you have to provide the following information:

  • The attribute name defines the name of the search criteria.
  • The name of the set type defines the set type in which the related data is stored.
  • The attribute name within the set type defines the exact database field in which the related data is stored. In case you provide two fields, these database fields specify the lower and upper limit of the assigned search criteria.
  • Additionally, you have to provide the initial description of each search field on the user interface.
  • You can define whether a certain search criterion is visible on the user interface.
  • You can define whether a certain search field is mandatory.
  • You can define the sort order of all fields on the user interface.

You have to consider the following restrictions and rules:

  • Not more than 30 search criteria will be supported.
  • You have to count the search criteria from 01 to 30. This numbering also affects the order of the search fields on the user interface.
  • You must define a search field for consumption for each search field related to the division. You must also use the same suffix for each pair of search fields, for example, DIVISION01 and CONSUMPTION01. These two search fields are only considered as mandatory fields in combination. If you fill a division search field you have to provide the consumption as well and vice versa.
