In this activity, you define search profiles for the Product Finder and Configurator (PFC). A search profile has the following characteristics:

  • It defines the tree profile group that is used to display the result tree for the products and packages found. You make the settings for the tree profile groups in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Industry-Specific Solutions -> Utilities Industries -> Settings for User Interfaces -> General Functions -> Define Object Hierarchy and Object Attributes.
  • It defines the tree profile group that is used to display the result tree for the competitor products found. You make the settings for the tree profile groups in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Industry-Specific Solutions -> Utilities Industries -> Settings for User Interfaces -> General Functions -> Define Object Hierarchy and Object Attributes.
  • It defines the tree profile group that is used to display the products and packages. that are part of the shopping basket .You make the settings for the tree profile groups in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Industry-Specific Solutions -> Utilities Industries -> Settings for User Interfaces -> General Functions -> Define Object Hierarchy and Object Attributes.
  • It defines the profile used for the detailed comparison of products and packages. You make the settings for the tree profile groups in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Industry-Specific Solutions -> Utilities Industries -> Settings for User Interfaces -> Product Finder and Configurator --> Define Criteria for Detail Comparison.

Each search profile can be assigned to a business role using the function profile IUPFC. For example, the profile UTIL is assigned to business role UTIL_IC.

You have to create the BOL tree profiles and BOL tree profile groups before you can assign them to a PFC profile. The same applies to the detailed comparison profile.

The profile UTIL, which is assigned to the business role UTIL_IC, uses the following BOL tree profile groups:

  • IUPFC_PROD (PFC: IS-U Order Items)
  • IUPFC_COMP (PFC: Competitor Products)
  • IUPFC_BSK (PFC: Shopping Basket)

It also uses the detailed comparison profile UTIL (Profile UTIL for Comparison of Products within PFC) which itself reuses the BOL tree profile group IUPFC_DET (PFC: Detailed Comparison).
