In this Customizing activity, you define mass change template types.
About mass change templates
A mass change template is a mass
change procedure on a contract or intellectual property (IP), that is saved in your system. The selection and operation steps of the procedure can be empty or they can be configured with specific criteria
About mass changetemplate types
When saving a mass change template, you must associate it to a specific template type.
A template type allows you to group templates together for better management and organization. It also limits the use of a template to users with specific authorizations, thereby preventing unauthorized use (for example, you would not be able to apply mass change templates that are associated with template types to which you do not have access)
Default template types for each business object
For each business object on which mass changes are
applied (for example, acquisition contract, sales contract and IP), you need to define one defaulttemplate type. The default template type serves several purposes:
- Loading a mass change template
When loading a mass change template, those belonging to the default template type appear first in the template list (although you can change the filter to display other templates).
- Saving a new mass change template
When saving a new mass change template, the system proposes that you associate it to the default template type first (although you can always associate it any other applicable template type)
- Creating procedures that are not based on templates
Only users who have authorization to access the default template type are able to define a mass change procedure that is not based on a mass change template.
Template Typefield
Enter the name of the template type (maximum 4 characters).
Object Typefield
Enter the technical key of the business object to which the template type is associated:
- BUS2000230 - License sales contract
- BUS2000231 - License acquisition contract
- BUS1178104 - Intellectual property
Descriptionfield
Enter a description of the template type (maximum 40 characters).
This is the text that you will see in the Template Type drop down list while saving a mass change template.
Defaultcheck box
Select to define the corresponding template type as the default template.
- Note
You must define a default template type for each business object
- Note
You can only define one default template type for each business object (you cannot have more than one default template type defined)
You use the Define Mass Change Template TypesCustomizing activity to define the following mass change template types:
- Template Type 1
-
Template Type
RLTY
-
Object Type
BUS2000230 (Corresponds to the CRM License Sales Contract)
-
Default
Clear
-
Description
"Royalty changes to contracts"
- Template Type 2
-
Template Type
TRGT
-
Object Type
BUS2000230
-
Default
Selected
-
Description
"Rights changes to contracts"
In the CRM WebClient UI, you classify all your mass change templates as follows:
- RLTY template type
All mass change templates involved with royalty changes to contracts
- TRGT template type
All mass change templates involved with rights changes to contracts
Next you define the mass change templates to which users have access, by way of Authorization object CRM_MASS.
- Users who are permitted to make royalty changes to contracts have access to template type RLTY.
- Users who are permitted to make rights changes to contracts have access to template type TRGT.
Note
Users who are permitted to make royalty changes and who also have access to create new mass
change procedures will only be able to create mass change templates that are automatically classified under template type RLTY
Users who are permitted to make rights changes and who also have access to create new mass change procedures will be able to create procedures that are not based on templates (because template type TRGT is the default template type), as well as templates that are classified under template type TRGT.
You use the Define Mass Change Template Types Customizing activity to define the following mass change template types:
- Template Type 1
-
Template Type
AR01
-
Object Type
BUS1178104 (Corresponds to Intellectual Property for CRM)
-
Default
Clear
-
Description
"Business area 01"
- Template Type 2
-
Template Type
AR02
-
Object Type
BUS1178104
-
Default
Selected
-
Description
"Business area 02"
In the CRM WebClient UI, you classify all your mass change templates as follows:
- AR01 template type
All templates related to mass change activities carried out by Business Area 01
- AR02 template type
All templates related to mass change activities carried out by Business Area 02
Next you define the mass change templates to which users have access, by way of Authorization object CRM_MASS.
- Users working in Business Area 01 are granted access to template type AR01.
- Users working in Business Area 02 are granted access to template type AR02.
Note
Users working in Business Area 01 who also have access to create new mass change procedures will only be able to create mass change templates that are automatically classified under template type AR01.
Users working in Business Area 02 who also have access to create new mass change procedures will be able to create procedures that are not based on templates (because template type AR02 is the default template type), as well as templates that are classified under template type AR02.
