In this IMG activity, you can create and configure the destination of the xPD web service. This establishes a connection from Insights Management to the SAP xApps Product Definition (xPD) application.

Create Connection to Destination

  1. Create the destination for the xPD web service using the transaction SM59.
The Display and Maintain RFC Destination screen appears.
  1. Create a connection to the external server by maintaining the following RFC details:
    1. Specify the connection type as G (HTTP Connection to Ext. Server).
    2. Enter a description.
    3. In the Technical Settingstab, maintain the details for Target host, Service No. (port), and Path Prefixdepending on where the xPD service is running.
    4. In the Logon/Securitytab, specify a logon user and password. This is the service user authorization that will be used by any Insights Management user to log on to xPD.
    5. Specify all other entries as required.
    6. Save the details.
The entry appears in the tree hierarchy for RFC destinations.

Configure Destination

  1. In this activity, you configure the destination using the customizing view CRMV_MKTISM_WS.
  2. Enter the name of the destination in the column SAPOSCOL destination.
Only the first line of the table CRMC_MKTISM_WS (also located in the table CRMC_MKTISM) is relevant. If the table is empty or the entry in the first line is empty (initial), then this signifies that Insights Management is running without a connection to xPD.
