You can use this Customizing activity to trigger service request creation and service request search from SAP GUI based applications, for example, ERP. It is possible to send data from ERP to parameterize creation and search when launching the CRM WebClient UI.

The business role, UI object type, and action needed to launch the WebClient UI and to navigate to the corresponding UI component (service request creation or service request search), can be determined in one of the following ways:

  1. Sent as parameters from another application (such as ERP).
  2. Specified in this Customizing activity.
  3. If neither of the above are used, the system defaults to a hard-coded fallback for UI object type and action, and uses the business role assigned to the current user.
  • You have set up RFC communication between ERP and CRM.
  • You have made appropriate Customizing settings for the involved areas (service request, categories, and so on) on both sides.

This Customizing activity is optional and can be used to specify the business role to be used when creating or searching for service requests in the WebClient UI.

Note: Information about UI object type and action only needs to be specified in cases of custom development using a non-default setup for service requests.
