In this activity, you assign a method schema to a sales organization and a transaction type. This controls which item proposal or product proposal types are determined for a particular sales transaction in a particular sales organization.

For example, you can set up standard orders in the sales organization Europe to use item proposals based on listings/exclusions, and the product proposal types top n product lists, up-selling and cross-selling.

For each combination of sales organization, transaction type, and method schema, you can then determine whenthe product proposals should be displayed during transaction processing.

You can also make settings for proposal display for item proposals based on past orders and for item proposals based on listings.

If you want to use item proposals based on listingsyou need to enter the relevant listing procedure here. If necessary, you can also assign an exclusion procedure.

If you have defined the prices for proposed products to be calculated from a price list(in the customizing activitiy General Settings for Product Proposals) you also need to assign a price list type here.

  1. Enter a sales organization.
  2. Enter a transaction type.
  3. Enter the method schema to be determined when using this combination in the transaction, for example, in a sales order.
  4. Make the other settings as required.

No sales organizations are delivered in the standard CRM system. You should therefore create a sales organization first and then assign it a method schema and transaction type.

For item and product proposals to work in sales transactions, you need to perform the following tasks in the application, depending on the types of item proposals or product proposals you want to employ:

  • Create listings and/or exclusions
  • Assign accessories in the product master
  • Create Top-n-lists
  • Create association rules for up-/down-selling, and cross-selling
