Methods:

CHARACTERISTICS_SALES_FILL

CHARACTERISTICS_SERVICE_FILL

These methods help you to apply values from the CRM- transaction to customer- specific characteristics in the profitability analysis (CO-PA). The method CHARACTERISTICS_SALES_FILL applies to items which are assigned to the Sales-Controlling scenario, the method CHARACTERISTICS_SERVICE_FILL applies to items which are assigned to the Service-Controlling scenario. Service items are always assigned to the Service-Controlling scenario and for sales items, the Controlling scenario Item Category can be set in Customizing. If you do not maintain entries here, a sales item is automatically assigned to the Sales-Controlling scenario.

Procedure:

  1. Expand the structure BAPI_CO_SALES_CUSTOMER or BAPI_CO_SERVICE_CUSTOMER in the CRM System and the R/3 System for the fields from which you want to take values from the CRM Transaction.
  2. When saving the CRM Transaction, the system calls up the method. The BDoc (IT_MESSAGE_EXT), which contains all data for the CRM Transaction, and a structure IS_CO_ADMIN, which contains the administrative data for the current item, are both available.
  3. Fill the fields for the return structure ES_CUSTOMER_SALES (Category BAPI_CO_SALES_CUSTOMER) and ES_CUSTOMER_SERVICE (Category BAPI_CO_SERVICE_CUSTOMER). Errors can be copied to the message table ET_RETURN.
  4. For maintaining your own characteristics, you can use the User-Exit IAOM_CHANGE_ATTRBTS_VIA_EXIT of the Controlling tool in the R/3 System.

Method CHARACTERISTIC_PLANT_FILL

If you are using CRM together with the Advanced Planner and Optimizer (APO), the delivering plant for the item is already determined in APO and saved in CRM. In such cases, the method CHARACTERISTIC_PLANT_FILL is not called up.

If you are not using the APO or the item is not ATP-relevant, the plant is not known to the CRM System and is not available as a characteristic in Controlling. However, because the plant is such an important characteristic and the profit center is determined as standard through material and plant, the plant can, in such cases, be provided for Controlling using the method CHARACTERISTIC_PLANT_FILL. When this method is used, the plant is not provided for the replicated sales order. This is determined in the R/3 Sales Order.
