Dispatcher

The ACE calculates and saves the authorization data through a dispatcher job that is started by activating rights and the by user creating/modifying objects. This has the advantage that time-intensive calculations do not have to be performed at runtime and hence system performance is improved.

The dispatcher is a singleton, that is, at any given time it draws on a maximum of one process and cannot be started repeatedly. It reads worklists, which were filled by the activation- or creation/modification process of objects with object GUIDs and metadata and, with the objects, forms packages. Then it starts background jobs that process the packages.

During dispatcher runtime, the worklist can be filled by other activation- or creation/modification processes. Background jobs are started until the worklists have been completely processed. The dispatcher then shuts down with an delay while worklists are checked for new objects, and, if necessary, new background jobs are started.

Trace Table

The results of calculations from the background jobs are logged in a trace table. For each object of a right, the table contains information about the most recent calculation of the authorization data. If the objects are deleted from the runtime tables in the ACE, for example, by deactivating the right, the corresponding entry in the trace table is also deleted. Hence it does not contain a history.

The data is evaluated by using activity Analyze Runtime Data.

In the IMG activity Maintain General Parameters, you have maintained the following parameters:

  • ACTIVATION_PCKG_SIZE
  • MAXIMUM_RUNNING_JOBS
  • DISP_SHUTDOWN_DELAY_TIME
