A user group contains the users who should get authorizations through the right to the objects provided via the rule. Single users and/or roles can be assigned to the user groups. They can also be nested.

User groups are assigned to work packages.

Note:

Because a user group can be assigned to only one work package, non-unique assignments may result from nesting of user groups. For example, group G1 is assigned to package P1. Additionally, group G1 is nested in group G2, which is assigned to package P2. The user group in package P1 is therefore not valid because the assignment to a group G1 work package through nesting with group G2 is not unique.

• SMITHJONES, type U (=user)

• SAP_CRM_PARTNER, type R (= role)

• ACE_MNGR, type G (= group)

Vice versa, the user group ACE_MNGR contains users ATKINS and BLOGGS as lower-level nodes.
