This Business Add-In (BAdI) PRINTER_DETERM_PPF) is used in the Actions (CRM-BF-ACI) component. It enables you to determine a printer in a more flexible way than the standard Customizing activity allows you to. For example, if you want to print an e-mail confirmation from a local printer in your office, and not from the usual printer for your entire department, you can use this BAdI to do so.

You have not specified a printer in the Customizing activity Define Conditions. You can find this activity in Customizing for CRM under Basic Functions → Actions → Actions in the Transaction → Change Actions and Conditions.

You cannot use this BAdI in addition to Customizing settings for printer determination.

The BAdI is activated in the standard system, but only affects action definitions starting with FI*.

It is filter-dependent.

To use this Business Add-In, proceed as follows:

  1. Choose the Create button to create a BAdI implementation.
  2. Specify a name and a filter type for your implementation. Note that the filter type must be identical to the action definition. For example, if you create an implementation for printer determination in activities, you should name the filter type ACTIVITY_PRINT, as this is the name of the action definition for printing activities. Alternatively, you can create an implementation for more than one component by using *. For example, if you want to set a printer determination for both opportunities and contracts, you can name the filter type PRINT_* because the action definitions are PRINT_OPPORT and PRINT_CONTRACTS.

If you want to determine the printer that is defined in the user master data, you can copy the code from the implementation PRINTER_DET_SUSR_PPF and enter it in your implementation.

For further information on Actions, see the Customizing documentation for CRM under Basic Functions → Actions.
