SAP E-Book

This activity enables you to insert industry-specific fields into your activity journals, which you can use to enter information on specific topics, for example, main location placement of goods or promotion price in store. Once you have run this report, you can carry out any of the activities in the implementation guide under Industry-Specific Fields.Note that you cannot carry out these activities without having run this report beforehand.

When you carry out this activity, the system modifies the database and enhances the include CI_ACT_REP_ADD_FIELDS. You should therefore only run this report once, during system installation, before you start working with activity journals.

Specifics of CRM Mobile

The structures described below are available in CRM Mobile by default, which means that industy-specific fields and their corresponding selection lists are automatically possible in activity journals in CRM Mobile. However, if you wish to upload an activity journal from CRM Mobile to CRM Enterprise, you still need to carry out the activity described here, as the structures are not automatically transferred from CRM Mobile to CRM Enterprise.

Standard fields are delivered with the standard configuration and do not require the above report. You can access and implement these under Sales Operations → Activity Journal Template Types.

When you carry out this activity, all the structures provided by SAP are displayed on the left side of the screen, and the structures you choose to include in your activity journals will be displayed on the right side. To select the required structures for your activity journals, move the structures from the left to the right side of the screen by using the arrows buttons provided.

Each of the structures contains a field or a set of fields, which is grouped together according to the subject matter. When you choose a specific structure, all the fields belonging to it will then appear during template type creation or maintenance, alongside the standard fields. For example, if you work in the Pharmaceuticals industry and choose the structure CRMT_ACT_REP_PHARMA, the field Pharmaceutical reference no. will appear during template type maintenance. When you maintain template types, you can select the relevant fields if you want to include them in your activity journal, or you can leave them de-selected, depending on your requirements. The structures contained are as follows:

Structure name   Fields contained within structure
CRMT_ACT_REP_DECORATION_CHECK   Decoration material; Decoration type; No. of products in stock
CRMT_ACT_REP_FACING_CHECK   No. of facings; Length of facing;
  Width of facing; Depth of facing;

CRMT_ACT_REP_PROD_POSIT_CHECK   Vertical position in shelf;
  Horizontal position in shelf;
  Qualification of shelf position; Optimization of
  shelf performed within an ECR agreement
Specific selection lists (drop-down lists) are attached to the above structures in the standard configuration. Once you have selected the required fields during template type maintenance, the corresponding selection lists appear automatically in the activity journal. You can, however, make changes to the existing selection lists, or create your own. You can display and maintain the selection lists in all the Customizing activities under Customizing for CRM → Transactions → Settings for Activities → Activity Journal → Industry-Specific Fields. Note that the selection lists will not appear in the activity journal until you have selected the corresponding fields during template type maintenance. This means that any changes you make in these Customizing activities will only have an effect once you have selected the corresponding field names during template type maintenance.
The following field names (displayed in the activity journal) are attached to the structures listed below, and can be displayed and maintained in the following Customizing activities:

Procedure

To run the report, proceed as follows:

  1. Select the package you want to work with in the Package Name field by using the F4 help.
  2. Choose whether you want to work with the SAP Graphical User Interface or the People-Centric User Interface, or both. If you want the changes to be made on both interfaces, you can select both at the same time. Alternatively, you can make the changes for one interface and later make the changes for the other interface.
  3. If you are working with an external system, such as Mobile Sales, set the appropriate flag. This ensures that the structures in the Mobile system are also maintained on the CRM server.

Result

Once you have carried out this activity, the following takes place:

  • The system makes the necessary changes to the database by enhancing the include CI_ACT_REP_ADD_FIELDS. This means that the structures you have selected are included in your activity journal, and the fields attached to the structures will appear in the activity journal on the user interface.
  • The People-Centric and / or SAP Graphical User Interface structures are maintained.
