This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the Marketing Prospect (CRM-MKT-MP) component. You can use this BAdI to perform a duplicate check when marketing prospects are uploaded from an external list. The check determines whether marketing prospects or business partners exist of which the uploaded marketing prospects are duplicates.

With this BAdI, you can define your own rules that determine when an uploaded marketing prospect is identified as a duplicate.

Methods

The method GET_SUPPORTED_ELEMENTS delivers the names of attributes used by the duplicate check.

The method FIND_BY_ELEMENTS_EXTERNAL is used to find duplicate marketing prospects and business partners in the database.

For more information about the standard settings (filters, single or multiple uses), see the Enh. Spot Element Definitions tab in the BAdI Builder (transaction SE18).

The example implementation CRM_DUPL_CHCK_MKT_PROSP_EXPL (implementation class CL_CRM_DUPL_CHCK_MKTPROSP_EXPL) is available. This implementation compares the e-mail address(es) of the uploaded marketing prospects with existing marketing prospects and business partners. A duplicate is detected only if a new e-mail address is identical to an existing one.

The following e-mail addresses are compared:

  • For marketing prospects:
  • E-mail address of the marketing prospect (in the Address and Communication Datasection of the UI)

  • E-mail address in the Work section of the UI

  • E-mail addresses of the social media users

  • For an account :
  • E-mail addresses in the address data

  • E-mail addresses of the social media users

  • For a contact:
  • E-mail address in the address data

  • E-mail addresses of the social media users

  • E-mail addresses in the contact relationship data
