This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the Business Partners (CRM-MD-BP) component. You can use this BAdI in data cleansing for accounts and employees, to determine which data entities are shown in the cleansing case WebClient UI and which are merged in the background, dependent on the attributes of the cleansing case.

For example, if you merge employee records and want to reduce the amount of data that needs to be checked by the user, you can use this BAdI to determine a variant for background processing, dependent on the business partner role.

The method GET_VARIANTS is available with the following parameters:

IV_CASE_NUMBER - Cleansing case number

  • CV_CLEAR_REP - Variant for data entities processed in the background
  • CV_CLEARING - Variant for data entities that appear in the clearing case (WebClient UI)

You have defined the variant(s) that you want to use in conjunction with the BAdI in the Customizing activity Define Variants for Data Cleansing.

For more information about the standard settings (filters, single or multiple uses), see the Enh. Spot Element Definitions tab in the BAdI Builder (transaction SE18).

The example implementation CL_CRM_CLEAN_VAR_EXAMPLE uses customer-defined variants in the case of cleansing cases for employees. In all other cases, the variants predefined by SAP are used.
