In this IMG activity, you run a job to check and update business partner addresses from organizational units.
The maintenance of addresses is:
- Time-dependent for organizational units
- Not time-dependent for business partner master data
When a business partner is created for an organizational unit, the current address is copied from the organizational unit to the business partner master record. If this organizational unit has a planned change of address, the address copied to the business partner master record will be invalid after the address is updated for the organizational unit.

When you create a business partner record for an organizational unit between May and August, the address is in Newport. In August, the address for the organizational unit is updated from Newport to Boston. However, Newport remains the address for the business partner, as time-dependent updates of addresses are not automatic for business partner master data.
In order to maintain current addresses for business partners, we recommend that you periodically run a job to check and update business partner addresses from organizational units.
