In this activity, you create the mini-templates you require to maintain data for sales-area-independent and sales-area-dependent data sets.

In the first step, you define the mini-templates you require and maintain the appropriate data for them. These mini-templates are sales-area-independent and cannot be used to directly assign sales-area-dependent data.
To do this, you choose Create Mini-Template, select the relevant application object and mini-template type (sales-area-independent), and enter an ID. To now maintain the data as appropriate, choose Add Line.

In the second step, you bring together sales-area-dependent mini-templates that do not contain any data with sales-area-independent mini-templates with the relevant data.
To do this, you choose Create Mini-Template, select the relevant application object and mini-template type, this time sales-area-dependent, and enter an ID. Then choose Add Line to enter the appropriate sales areas (sales organization, distribution channel, and division). In the next dialog box, choose Add Line as many times as required to enter multiple sales areas. To then assign the data, enter the relevant sales-area-independent mini-template.

After you have created the appropriate mini-templates for your data sets, you assign the mini-templates to templates in the Customizing activity Assign Mini-Templates to Templates. These templates can then be assigned to a business partner on the Templates tab page in business partner maintenance.

Note that if you wish to change or delete a mini-template, a where-used check will indicate whether deletion is possible or whether any changes need to be distributed. You should schedule the report TFW: Mass Distribution of Template Changes so that when there are changes to the mini-templates, the relevant objects can be distributed to the dependent systems, such as SAP BW.

You want to maintain sales-area-dependent billing data:

  1. You create a new mini-template by choosing Create Mini-Template and selecting the mini-template type CRM_BILLING_ATTR. To enter the data as appropriate, you choose Add Line and make the necessary entries. This data is sales-area-independent.
  2. To use this data for a specific sales area, you repeat the step above but select the mini-template type CRM_BILLING_SA. You choose Add Line to make the sales area entries and enter the mini-template you created in step 1 in the Mini-Template field.
