Not all bulletins are relevant for all business roles that want to get specific information about business partners, installed bases, and so on. For this reason, you can define contexts that define the business usage for the bulletins or, in other words, the business roles for which the bulletin is relevant. By editing a bulletin, the users add one or more of these contexts to a bulletin. By doing this, the users determine for which business roles the bulletin should be displayed in the bulletins assignment block.

Example
You create the contexts Service and Sales. A user creates a bulletin with information about a customer. He assigns both contexts. By doing this, the user determines that this information is relevant for Sales personnel as well as for Service personnel.

To make the assignment to the business roles easier, you do not assign the contexts directly to the business roles. Instead, you assign the contexts to the UI object types that are assigned to the business roles.

  1. Define the contexts that you want to use for the Bulletin Board.
  2. For every context, specify the UI object types in which bulletins assigned to this context are to be displayed.
