You can use this IMG activity to determine whether or not you want to log any error messages that occur. If you want to log error messages, you can display the log (application log) at runtime in transaction SLG1.

You can specify which error messages you want to log from which problem class:

There are five problem classes:

  • Very important
  • Important
  • Medium
  • Additional information
  • Miscellaneous

The problem class Miscellaneous is the lowest, and the problem class Very important is the highest.

If you log the error messages, you can display the log (application log) at runtime using the transaction SLG1.

No entry is maintained as a default setting, therefore no application log is written.

  1. In change mode, choose New entries.
  2. In the column active, use the input help to select whether or not to activate the application log.
  3. In the column Problcl(Problem class), use the input help to select from which problem class you want to log the error messages. All problem classes higher than the one selected will also be automatically logged.
  4. Enter a number in the column D...(Days). This specifies the number of days the logged error messages are kept before they can be deleted.

Example

If the application log is active for all error messages in the problem class Miscellaneous, the error messages from all the other problem classes will also be logged.
