In this Customizing activity you can create and change record models for case records. You can use case record models to define the type and arrangement of objects (also known as referenced objects) in the case record.

You can change the case record model if you want to allow further types of objects to be assigned to a case, or if you want to change the structure of the case record.

If you want to allow further types of objects to be assigned to a case, you have done the following:

  1. Created new element types in the activity Set Up Registry.
  2. Assigned the new element types with the corresponding relationship type and business object type to a process in the activity Assign Element Types and Business Object Types to a Process.

The case record model SRM_MOD02 is predefined in the standard system. You can change this model to meet your requirements. If you make changes, you should save the model in a new version.

You create and change case record models in the Records Modeler under Record and Case Record Models → Modeler for CRM Case Records (double-click to access the modeler).

For more information about using the modeler, see the Records Managementdocumentation in the SAP Library.

If you have to enter an RMSRecords Management System) ID when you start this activity, select the system for which you want to create case record models (use F4 Help for the selection).

Case Management in Service only supports models in which ANCHOR and RELATION are the same. There is one exception to this rule: the C_CAprocess used in the Interaction Center (IC) WebClient.

You must assign the attribute ANCHOR to any new element types that you enter here. This sets a marker for the node in the record model. The system uses the marker, for example, when automatically inserting elements into the record, to ensure that the elements are inserted at the correct position.

When you have created or changed a case record model, set the status Released (button Model → Change Status) so that the model can be used in Case Management. You can change the model later by adding nodes. You cannot delete nodes once they have been released.

You can define which case record model should be used in which case type in the Customizing activity Define Case Type (Extended Customizing).
