SAP E-Book

You use the activities listed in this document to define authorizations for channel partners.

At runtime, the system checks the authorization of a user based on the authorization roles (PFCG roles) that are assigned to the user, irrespective of what business role the user has. If this does not work, the system checks the value of parameter CRM_UI_PROFILE.

The authorization roles determine which features, including BI Content, a user is authorized to use, and whether a user can display or change data.

You use the channel manager role for the brand owner, and the partner manager role for the channel partner.

  1. Define the business roles in the IMG activityDefine Business Role.
For partner channel management, we deliver the following business roles:
  • CHM-CM (channel manager)

  • CHM-PM (partner manager)

  1. Define authorization roles (PFCG roles), and assign them to the business role. You do this in the IMG activityDefine Authorization Role.
For partner channel management, we deliver the following composite roles:
  • SAP_CRM_UIU_CHM_CHANNELMAN_COL (composite role for channel manager)

  • SAP_CRM_UIU_CHM_PARTNERMAN_COL (composite role for partner manager)

For each role in the composite roles, check the authorization objects. When you have checked the authorization objects, generate authorization profiles. For more information, see the application help in the IMG activity.
  1. Assign the authorization role for partner manager to the users of the appropriate channel partners. In the SAP Easy Access Menu, choose Architecture and Technology -> System Administration -> User Maintenance -> Users.
To check whether the generated authorization profile has been included for the user, display the authorization profile on the tab page Profiles.
  1. In addition, you can control authorization by using a filter. Define the filter in the Business Add-In (BAdI) BAdI: Filtering of BP Roles by Authorization Check
