To use the claims taxation function for the trade promotion management (TPM) scenario, you must ensure that all requirements are met and all settings performed as described in this document.

You have downloaded tax codes and payment block reasons from SAP ERP by performing the following:

  • Ensured that calculation procedures are assigned to countries in SAP ERP. You do this in Customizing for SAP ERP for Financial Accounting under Financial Accounting Global Settings -> Tax on Sales/Purchases -> Basic Settings -> Assign Country to Calculation Procedure.
  • Ensured that tax codes are assigned to calculation procedures in SAP ERP. You do this in Customizing for SAP ERP for Financial Accounting under Financial Accounting Global Settings -> Tax on Sales/Purchases -> Calculation -> Define Tax Codes for Sales and Purchases.
  • Defined the RFC destination for the SAP ERP system using the Configuration of RFC Connections (SM59) transaction.
  • Launched the Administration Console transaction from the SAP Easy Access menu under Architecture and Technology -> Middleware -> Administration -> Administration Console. If the replication site for SAP ERP is not present, you must create it.
  • Downloaded the required customizing adapter object. For the tax codes you need BILL_ACC_TAX_CD: Tax Codes Download from ERP, and for the reasons for blocking payments you need CRM_DNL_T008: ERP T008 Table Replication. You download the customizing adapter objects from the SAP Easy Access menu under Architecture and Technology -> Middleware -> Data Exchange -> Initial Load -> Start, and then enter the name of the customizing adapter object to download.
Note: You can monitor the progress of the initial load from the SAP Easy Accessmenu under Architecture and Technology -> Middleware -> Data Exchange -> Initial Load -> Monitor Objects.

Perform the basic settings explained in the following activities:

Make the following settings in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management:

  • In Check ERP Payment Block Reasons, view the possible reasons for blocking automatic payment transactions for claim submission transaction types subject to taxation.
  • In Define Expense Types, identify the tax direction (no tax, input tax, or output tax) for all of your expense types.
,,Claim Submissions
  • In Amount Item Type, indicate if you want to enter amount and tax information in the claim submission. For manual claim submissions you must select Amount With or Without Tax.

  • In Claim Submission Type, indicate the origin of the claim submission of that type. This can be manually in SAP CRM, based on information received from the claiming account, or automatically, based on a dispute case processed in SAP ERP.

,,Claims
  • Choose the Claim Submission Integration checkbox, as all input-tax-relevant claims must have a claim submission when using taxation in claims.

  • Identify the source of the claim submission. Invoice claims are created manually, and deduction claims are created automatically.

Claims, Carried-Over Prepayments, and Chargebacks
  • Choose the Tax Relevant checkbox in the transaction details page to indicate that taxation is enabled for this transaction. This makes the Tax Direction field available in the WebClient UI, and enables the consistency checks carried out by the system.

Set up a background job in the Define Background Job (SM36) transaction to run the Tax Difference Report(CRM_CLA_CSD_TAX_DIFF).
