When creating a document, you can use SAP Credit Management to run credit checks.

You can connect the following credit management systems:

  • SAP Credit Management (FIN-FSCM-CR)
  • External credit management system

In this activity, you define customer credit groups and specify which rule the system is to use in credit checks for a specific credit group.

You can define the following control settings for credit groups:

  • Reduction of confirmed quantity after a negative credit check
If you select the Reduce Confirmed Qty indicator, the confirmed quantity for these items is reduced to the quantity already supplied after a negative credit check, and is locked for the availability check until the items have been released or are checked with OK when another credit check is run.
  • Quantity type used for the credit check
You can choose between the desired quantity and the confirmed quantity in the Credit Quantity field.

You can also specify that the values in the document are to be updated as commitments in the credit management system. To do this, select the Credit Update Active indicator.

You intend to use the standard settings, or you have defined and implemented your own checking rules in Customizing.

  • Customer Management -> Basic Functions -> Credit Management -> General Settings -> Business Add-Ins ->Define Checking Rules

The system contains the standard customer credit group IT, for which checking rule 02 is used. This rule accesses the automatic credit check in SAP Credit Management (FIN-FSCM-CR).
