This activity enables you to maintain your own conversion rules for source fields of access sequences whose conversion rule differs from the one that you have defined for the key fields of condition tables.

Generally speaking, the conversion rules for the source fields of the access sequences and for the key fields of condition tables are the same. In some cases, however, different conversion rules are needed for the source fields of access sequences and the key fields of condition tables.

If access sequences are converted during a Customizing download, the system searches for conversion rules for the source fields of the access sequences in the following sequence. When the system finds a conversion rule, no further searches are carried out in other tables.

  1. The system searches for a conversion rule in table CND_MAPM_CNV_FL2. Table CND_MAPM_CNV_FL2 contains user-defined conversion rules for the source fields of access sequences. You maintain the entries in this table in this activity.
  2. The system searches for a conversion rule in table CND_MAPC_CNV_FL2. Table CND_MAPC_CNV_FL2 contains conversion rules provided by SAP for the source fields of access sequences.
  3. The system searches for a conversion rule in table CND_MAPM_CNV_FLM. Table CND_MAPM_CNV_FLM contains user-defined conversion rules that can be applied to source fields of access sequences and key fields of condition tables.
  4. The system searches for a conversion rule in table CND_MAPC_CNV_FLM. Table CND_MAPC_CNV_FLM contains conversion rules provided by SAP that can be applied to source fields of access sequences and key fields of condition tables.

Example:

You want field KNRZE (Head Office) of the ERP system to be converted into the local field PAYER. Since the field is not used as a key field in condition tables, no conversion rule exists for this. Instead, SAP provides a corresponding conversion rule in table CND_MAPC_CNV_FL2 that is used for the conversion of the access sequences concerned.

A conversion rule for source fields consists of the following fields:

  • Local field
Name of the field, for example in the CRM system
  • External field
Name of the field in the external system, for example ERP
  • Type of lower-level communication structure

Note

You have to manually maintain all fields that you have entered in your own conversion rule in structure CND_MAPT_ACS_REM_CUST. To do this, proceed as follows:

  1. Call up the ABAP Dictionary (transaction SE11)
  2. Maintain an entry with the various field names of the ERP system for all user-defined key fields.
  3. Save and activate the structure.
