A sales cycle is defined by time, by the start and estimated end date of an project. The process ends with a sales order or a rejection from the customer. The sales cycle for a project is split into different phases, for example, first contact, qualification and so on.

In this step, you define the possible types of sales cycles for your enterprise. You then assign the sales cycle in Customizing to the business transaction type for projects. The sales cycle is set in the document, depending on the transaction type chosen.
