In this Customizing activity, you define communication channels and profiles

For prepaid contracts, you can define different methods of how automatic top-ups should be performed, if a rating system detects a limit under-run and therefore triggers CRM to initiate a top-up of the account. One action could be that a message is sent to the customer.

The communication profile defines a set of allowed communication channels that can be entered for a specific contract. Each communication channel specifies the communication method (for example, SMS, e-mail) and the partner function that is used to determine the partner assigned in certain role in a contract.

Create the communication channels that should be supported by the system. Assign the communication method and the partner function. SAP delivered a default implementation of BAdI CRM_TC_TPUP_SEND_NOTIF_BADI, which allows using communication method 'PAG' for sending SMS and 'INT' for sending an e-mail. For all other communication methods offered by SAP Connect, a customer implementation of this BAdI is necessary. The partner function is used to determine the BP master data, which must be read to get the relevant communication data (standard mobile number or e-mail address).

In addition, you can specify a description that is displayed during the capturing in the UI. The system adds the corresponding address as a string to this description if is found in the BP master data of the relevant partner, such as 'e-mail to Sold-to Party (test@test.de)'.

Create a communication profile and assign the communication channels, which should be available for a specific type of contract. The communication profile is assigned using Customizing of the item category type.

For private customer contracts, the system only allows you to enter the e-mail address or the SMS number of the sold-to party.

For business customer contracts, the system also allows you to select e-mail addresses of further partners like 'driver' and 'contact person'.
