SAP E-Book

In this activity, you set up the profiles you require to describe individuals involved in your investigations. A profile is used to classify a person according to terms you define, such as education, skills, psychology, habits, and behavior.

Setting up a profile involves:

  • Setting up a tree structure with several classification catalogs to be used for a profile
  • Defining the attributes for the profile
  • Enabling notes

The category modeler is used to define the profile categories required for investigative case management, while account classification is used to make the profiles and their attributes available on the UI. Certain mandatory settings have been preconfigured and should not be changed.

1. Define classification category with criteria and attributes

Check the settings under Customizing for Service -> Master Data -> Business Partner -> Define Account Classification.

For ICM the following are delivered as standard:
Category ICMCLAS (Profile Classification) with the 5 criteria and 6 attributes given below:

a) Criteria

  • PROF_GUID (Profile GUID): Handler Class CL_CRM_BUPA_CLASSIFICATION is used for all criteria. Only one criterion is needed for ICM.
  • CRIT1, CRIT2, CRIT3, CRIT4 (Dummy Criteria 1 - 4): Dummy criteria that do not contain any data. They are required to reuse the account classification function and should therefore not be changed.

b) Attributes

  • ICM_CLASS (Classification): Single Value Blank
  • ICM_ACT_GD (Activity GUID): Single Value X
  • ICM_OB_DAT (Observation Date): Single Value X
  • ICM_RES_AG (Responsible Agency): Single Value X
  • ICM_SE_LVL (Security Level): Single Value X
Handler Class: CL_CRM_ICM_BPPROF_SECLVL_HNDLR
  • ICM_STATUS (Status): Single Value X
Domain: CRM_ICM_BP_PROF_STATUS

Those attributes designated as "Single Value" can only be set once in each profile. #Classification# is the only multi-value attribute.

You can use the category ICMCLAS to set up your own profile classifications using the category modeler. We recommend that you use the ICMCLAS category otherwise the functionality provided for profiles will not work as designed.

2. Define application area for categorization

Define the application area in Customizing for Service under Cross-Application Components -> Multilevel Categorization -> Define Application Areas for Categorization.

ICMBP_PROFILE (ICM Business Partner Profile) is delivered as standard:

  • Cardinality: n Application Areas: m Schemas
  • RFC: Blank
  • Index Prefix: CA: (default value can be changed)
  • Scoring Factor: 1,0 (not relevant for ICMBP_PROFILE and should not be changed)
  • Fuzzy: 0,8 (not relevant for ICMBP_PROFILE and should not be changed)
  • AND Token: + (not relevant for ICMBP_PROFILE and should not be changed)
  • AND NOT Token: - (not relevant for ICMBP_PROFILE and should not be changed)
  • Parameter: SUBJECT_PROFILE: CL_CRM_ERMS_CATEGO_VA_1ORDER
  • Query Language:

The application area has already been activated by default. If necessary, activate the application area using transaction CRMC_ICM_BPCLAS.

3. Create classification catalogs using category modeler

You use the category modeler to create classification catalogs based on hierarchical categorization. The application ID for investigative case management is ICM Business Partner Profile (ICMBP_PROFILE).

  1. In the WebClient UI, go to the search page for profile categories (categorization schemas).
  2. Click New to create a new categorization schema. The category hierarchy is displayed on the left with the schema at the top.
  3. Enter a name and description.
  4. Enter ICM Business Partner Profile as the application ID, Subject Profile as the parameter, and Activity Reason as the value.
  5. Create new categories as required.
  6. After all categories have been created, select the schema, make sure the validity dates are in the future, and set the status to Active. Only those schemas that have been activated and released for the validity period are available for assignment to profiles.

For more information about the category modeler, see the online help available in the application, and SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.com -> SAP S/4HANA for Service -> Components and Functions -> Basic Functions -> Multilevel Categorization.

4. Define text object

Define a new text object in Customizing for Service under Basic Functions -> Text Management -> Define Text Objects and Text Types.

  1. Create the text object ICM_BP for ICM profiles.
  2. Define a text determination procedure and assign it to the new text object.
