You use this activity to define the ICM-relevant fields of the BI Query.

Based on a limitation of ODBO (OLE DB for OLAP), the Queries used in this interface can have a maximum of 19 characteristics. Queries defined with more than 19 characteristics within this activity cause the query execution to fail and do not return data.

You cannot enter field data manually. You retrieve the fields available in the BI Query by clicking Get Query Metadata.

All fields retrieved are marked as Used in ICM as the default. Select the checkbox to clear it for any fields not relevant to ICM. Fields that are marked for inclusion in ICM will be included in the structure generated in ICM in the Generate ICM Field Offering activity.

You can mark key figures to Display on the selection screen. The user sees a tab on the selection screen for each BI Query associated with the BI-ICM transfer application when he or she runs the SAP Easy Access transaction accessed through the path SAP Menu → Sales → Incentive and Commission Management → Extraction of BI Data to Commission System.

You can edit the descriptions of the Query fields to make them meaningful within the ICM environment.

If the Query contains header and detail level information, the fields can be grouped into commission cases by using Group by to indicate the order in which fields are to be grouped. Grouping the data is optional; if no grouping criteria are specified, each record is sent to ICM as an individual commission case. The allowable Group by values are 1 - 9. A zero in this field indicates that the field is not used for grouping data into commission cases.

Generally, it is recommended a time characteristic be included in this grouping to drive the creation of new commission cases. Other fields are to be included based on the design of the ICM commission application. You can change the data type and length of characters and free characteristics to correspond with types and lengths in BI. Note that changing the data type and length changes all transfer applications that use this query.
