In this Customizing activity, you define all of the business objects that can be used in the activity clipboard. For each business object, you define the associated text, how it is displayed if opened, whether it is linked to the interaction record, and which context it is used in.

If you customize objects that need new mapper classes, you need a basic understanding of ABAP.

Standard settings are available for:

  • Activity clipboard entries
There are entries for all business objects that can be used in the activity clipboard.
  • Activity clipboard profile
  1. Define entries.
Maintain only if you do not want to use the standard settings.
The activity clipboard entries, each representing a separate business object, are independent of the activity clipboard profiles. You assign entries to profiles later in Define Profiles. Each entry can be reused and assigned to more than one profile.
You use the fields Object Type and Object Action to determine the navigation target when the user clicks the activity clipboard entry. You define the target in the Define Navigation Bar Profile Customizing activity.
Several standard Business Object Layer (BOL) objects are defined in the DEFAULT profile. It is possible to add Business Object Repository (BOR) objects, as long as they are wrapped in the ICBORWrapper object that is included in the DEFAULT profile.
You define the following for each entry:
  • Identification

You determine the specifics of the business object.
  • Column texts

You can define the associated business object text for each column.
  1. Define Profiles.
  2. Assign Entries to Profiles.
You determine which entries, defined in Step 1, can be added to the activity clipboard by assigning each entry to the profile. You can assign the standard delivered activity clipboard entries to your own profile.
  1. Save.
  2. Assign the activity clipboard profile to the business role.
You do this in the Define Business Role Customizing activity.
