You can use this Customizing activity to create and enable contact attached data (CAD) attributes for fact gathering. The fact gathering service retrieves attributes from CAD and adds them to the fact base. These attributes can be used when creating alerts in the alert editor or when defining rules in the rule modeler. Once you enable a CAD attribute for fact gathering, it is available in the alert editor in the Fact Basecategory and in the rule modeler context ICRULEas a condition.

You have activated either the business function Multifunctional Shared Service Interaction Center (CRM_SHSVC) or the business function IC and Communication-Enabled Business Processes (CRM_IC_CEBP).

Perform the following steps in Customizing for Service:

  1. Make the following settings under Interaction Center WebClient -> Basic Functions -> Communication Channels -> Define Profiles for Contact Attached Data:
    1. Select your CAD profile or create a new one.
    2. Select the relevant CAD group or create a new one.
    3. Under Attributes, select the Fact Gathering indicator.
    4. Save your entries.
  2. Add the new or updated CAD profile to the relevant business role under Interaction Center WebClient -> Define Business Role.
  3. Search for the service FG_IC_CAD under E-Mail Response Management System -> Service Manager -> Define Services.
Ensure that this service is available. If it is not, ensure that either the business function Multifunctional Shared Service Interaction Center (CRM_SHSVC) or the business function IC and Communication-Enabled Business Processes (CRM_IC_CEBP) has been activated.
  1. Define CAD attributes in the E-Mail Response Management System (ERMS) attribute repository under E-Mail Response Management System -> Define Repository:
    1. Select the context ICRULE.
    2. Under Attributes, choose New Entries.
    3. Enter the following information for the relevant attribute:
  • Attribute: Enter a name.

  • Description: Enter a description.

Select the Show Attribute indicator.
  • XPath Expr: /parts/CAD Group/CAD Attribute/text()

Note: In the path above, enter the CAD group name that was defined in the first step above and the CAD attribute name you have chosen.
  • Fact Gathering Srvc: FG_IC_CAD

  • Attrib. Ext. Class: CL_CRM_ERMS_ATTR_EXT_MAGNITUDE

  • Save your entries.
