In this Customizing activity, you can use the virus scan profile /IC_CCS_MCM/ICI_MAIL to enable the scanning of e-mails that enter the system through the Integrated Communication Interface. If the connected virus scanner detects malicious content within the e-mail or the attachment after the activation of the profile, the e-mail and the attachment, respectively, are replaced by an error message. The same applies if the e-mail or attachment does not comply with MIME type restrictions set up in the profile.

You have made settings in Customizing for SAP CRM under SAP NetWeaver -> Application Server -> System Administration -> Virus Scan Interface -> Define Scanner Groups and Define Virus Scan Servers.

In the standard system, the following MIME types are blocked:

  • application/ecmascript
  • application/java-archive
  • application/javascript
  • application/x-jar
  • application/x-java-jar
  • application/x-javascript
  • application/x-shockwave-flash
  • application/x-silverlight
  • application/x-silverlight-2
  • application/x-silverlight-app
  • text/javascript

You may change these settings depending on your security and business needs.

Activate the profile /IC_CCS_MCM/ICI_MAIL in the Customizing activity Define Virus Scan Profiles to activate the virus scan for inbound e-mails that are sent through the Integrated Communication Interface.
