In the Web application Intellectual Properties Generation(select Generate IPsfrom the Operationswork center), you generate intellectual properties (IPs) based on the data of a template IP. In addition, you can indicate that these new IPs are nodes of a superordinate IP.

During the generation process, the system first generates IP proposals with attributes identical to those of the template IP - the IP proposals and their single-value attributes appear in the Intellectual Properties table view of the Intellectual Properties Generation WebClient screen. If required, you can change the attribute values of any of the IP proposals before you save them as actual IPs.

If you enhance the Intellectual Property business object with custom, single-line set types that have single-value attributes, you can extend the Intellectual Properties table view to display these attributes as well.

To extend the Intellectual Properties table in the Intellectual Properties GenerationWebClient screen, follow the steps below:

  1. From the SAP GUI, start transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB.
  2. Select the component IPMIPGEN, enter the name of your enhancement set and choose the Displaybutton.
  3. In the Structure of Component IPMIPGEN screen, choose the Component Structure Browser button.
  4. In the tree list, open the Viewsnode and double click on IPMIPGEN/GenResult.
  5. In the main window, choose the View Structure tab.
  6. Open the IPPROPOSAL_UInode (View Controller → GenResult.do → Context → Context Nodes).
  7. Right-click on the Attributesfolder and choose Createfrom the context menu. The Add Attribute to Existing Context Nodewizard appears.
  • In the first step, select the Add Model Attribute radio button.

  • In the next step, enter a name for the attribute, select the BOL entity product and select the BOL attribute (when searching for the BOL attribute, you need to open the Relationsfolder and navigate to the corresponding node for your set type).

  • In the next step, choose the Completebutton to finish.

  1. In the main window, choose the Configurationtab.
  2. Select your attribute from the Available Fields section and move it to the Displayed Fields section. You might need to choose the Refreshbutton to see your attribute.
  3. Save your changes when you are finished.
