In this Customizing activity, you enter business partner relationship categories. These categories can be used to copy business partners as payees for the payment distribution in license acquisition contracts. If more than one relationship category is available for a payee type, a dialog box displays to allow you to choose the category you wish to use.

Most relationship categories can be used to indicate superordinate and subordinate relationships for the business partner. For example, you can create the relationship category Has the Heir to indicate the heirs of a business partner (subordinate relationship), and the category Is Heir Ofto indicate those who have designated the business partner as their heir (superordinate relationship). However, you can only use subordinate relationships to copy the business partners into the payment distribution.

You have defined the payee type in the Customizing activity Define Payee Types.

  • Enter the relationship categories used.
  • You can assign a payee type to each category. This payee type is assigned to each payee that is copied with this category.
  • Define whether the payees copied replace the existing payee entries.

You have created a relationship category Has the Heir and assigned the payee type Is Heir to the category. When you select Copy Relationships, the system copies all business partners that are related to the licensor or selected business partner through the Has the Heir category to the payment distribution as payees. The system assigns these payees the payee type Is Heir.
