SAP E-Book
Users in Customer and Partner Portal (Only Relevant for CRM E-Commerce)

The roles of customer and partner require the following:

  • You must create a user that corresponds with the user model in B2B CRM E-Commerce (SU01). SU01 is linked with a contact person-business partner that is assigned to a business partner for the organization.
  • The partner contacts require that the business partner role Partner Contact (PRCONT) be assigned.
  • The portal user and user in CRM E-Commerce (SU01) must have the same ID in order to use Single Sign-On.
  • The roles for the portal user and Internet Sales user (SU01) must be synchronous.

You can find more information in SAP Library under Customer Relationship Management.

To meet these requirements, we recommend that you create and make changes to the users using Web-based CRM E-Commerce User Management. To do this, you must have set up user management to support the SAP Enterprise Portal as described in the Portal Support documentation. You can find more information in SAP Solution Manager.

Note: You must activate implementation CRM_CHM_CONTACT in the Business Add-In BAdI: Edit Contact Person in order to use the Web based user management in Partner Channel Management. This implementation assigns the role Partner Contact (PRCONT) to the contact persons of channel partners created in the Web based user management.

Note on Partner Users in Partner Channel Management (Partner and Customer Portal)

You can only assign partner users to one partner company as contact person.

In the business partner master record for your contact person, you must assign the partner relationship Actual Contact Person to the business partner master record of the partner company for which the contact person works.

In principle, Internet Sales supports the assignment of several Actual Contact Person partner relationships for several partner companies to one business partner. However, this is not possible in the partner portal or customer portal. This kind of multiple assignment would lead to data inconsistencies, as the system selects the assignment between contact person and partner company at random. For example, if you assign one contact person to partner companies A and B simultaneously, the system would create data at random for the contact person for company A , and then again at random for company B without you having any control over it.

You have to set up user management so that it supports the SAP Enterprise Portal as described in the Portal Support documentation.

You can find more information about portal support in SAP Note 713472.
