This activity describes the additional steps you have to execute to integrate SAP Real-Time Offer Management (RTOM) with the enhanced product proposal.

  • Definition of Search Attributes
Once you have defined the search attributes in the enhanced product proposal (Choose the following path in Customizing: Customer Relationship Management --> Industry-Specific Solutions --> Utility Industries --> Settings for User Interfaces --> Product Proposal --> Define Search Profile for Product Proposal), you also have to define the same attributes for RTOM. Two options are available to you here:
  • You can use the Rule Builderin SAP CRM. This requires you to execute the Customizing activity Define Rule Policy Types by choosing the following path in Customizing: Customer Relationship Management --> CRM Cross-Application Components --> Rule Builder. In this Customizing activity, you have to change the rule policy type RTOM (Real-Time Offer Management) but you must not create another one. The most important condition group is SURVEY (Enhanced Product Proposal) which contains all conditions attributes used in the enhanced product proposal.

  • Alternatively, you can also define the search attributes using the Business Logic Studio in the RTOM Application Toolkit on the RTOM server.

  • Definition of Business Roles
To use SAP Real-Time Offer Management in the enhanced product proposal, you also have to change your business role by assigning the function profiles OFFER (Real-Time Offer Management) and IUPROD_SEARCH (Enhanced Product Proposal) if you have not already done so.
  • Definition of Rule Policies
Finally, you also have to create a new rule policy using the business role IC_MANAGER (IC Manager). This rule policy is designed to handle all kinds of RTOM events. To use SAP Real-Time Offer Management in the enhanced product propsal, you have to activate it in the corresponding search profile. To do so, access the Customizing activity Define Search Profile for Product Proposalby choosing the following path in Customizing: Customer Relationship Management --> Industry-Specific Solutions --> Utility Industries --> Settings for User Interfaces --> Product Proposal.

SAP Real-Time Offer Management is only activated if you are using the search profile RTOM (Search Profile RTOM). The search profiles DEFAULT (Search Profile DEFAULT) and UTIL (Search Profile UTIL) do not support RTOM integration.
