SAP E-Book

To carry out a credit check in Credit Management (FI-AR-CR), SAP CRM uses a Remote Function Call (RFC) to contact the relevant ERP system.

To ensure that the CRM and ERP systems can communicate and use the same data, you need to make the following settings:

Determine System for Credit Check

To specify destinations for the credit check, go to Customizing and choose Customer Relationship Management → CRM Middleware and Related Components → Communication Settings → Define Middleware Parameters → Credit Check and enter an RFC destination for parameter CRMCREDCHE.

Customizing Settings in ERP

You must have made the Customizing settings for Credit Management in the ERP system. In ERP, choose Sales and Distribution -> Basic Functions -> Credit Management/Risk Management.

In the Customizing activity Sales and Distribution -> Basic Functions -> Credit Management/Risk Management -> Credit Management -> Define Automatic Credit Control , make sure that the fields in the Reactioncolumn are set to B -Error messageor D -Error message + value by which the credit limit has been exceeded.

Cross System Assignment of the Credit Control Area

In Customizing for CRM, choose Master Data -> Organizational Management -> Cross-System Assignment of Organizational Units -> Assign Credit Control Areas to Sales Organizational Units.

Specfiy System for Credit Data Update

If you want business transactions to be included in the credit check that are not replicated to the ERP system (for example, contracts or quotations), you must also activate updating of commitment data for these transactions (see activity Check Credit Group) and assign a system for this update. This takes place via site determination in Customizing for the updating of the credit commitment:

  • Choose Customer Relationship Management → CRM Middleware und Related Components → Communication Settings → Create Sites and Subscriptions in Customizing.
  • Select the object type Subscription and choose New.
  • Enter a name in the wizard that then appears and choose publication Credit exposures, unconditional (MESG).
  • On the next page, choose the site you want.
  • The publication Credit exposures, unconditional (MESG)is part of the standard delivery for object CMDOC_NOTIFY.
