In this Customizing activity, you define the complete base hierarchy for the product type Financial Service by assigning set types.

On the first category level beneath the FS hierarchy, you create one category only and do not assign any set types. On the second level, you create categories for loans, insurance policies, product bundles, or accounts, for example. SAP set types are automatically assigned to the categories. You can change this assignment manually after you have performed this Customizing activity.

For more information about hierarchies and categories, see SAP Library under SAP Customer Relationship Management -> CRM Enterprise -> Enterprise Sales -> Contract Management -> Master Data -> Products -> Concepts -> Categories and Hierarchies.

There is no base hierarchy for the product type Financial Service.

  1. Check the IDs for the hierarchy and categories and adjust these to suit your requirements.
  2. You can delete any categories that you do not need in your scenario.
  3. Check the short texts for the hierarchy and categories and adjust these to suit your requirements. Note that the names of hierarchies and categories are created automatically in the logon language only.
  4. Check whether the Product Assignment indicator has been set correctly. It may make sense in your scenario to assign products in the lowest categories.
  5. Choose Execute.
  6. On the CRM WebClient UI, choose Products -> Search: Product Hierarchies and check the new base hierarchy for Financial Services products.

    Here you can also:
  • Create a hierarchy manually

  • Edit an existing base hierarchy manually and further subdivide the hierarchy

  • Create the texts in different languages

  • Assign or remove set types or relationship types

Assets and objects to be financed, such as real estate, are modeled as products of the product type Material. You must manually create a category for these products on the CRM WebClient UI under Products -> Search: Product Hierarchies. You must assign at least the following set types to this category:
