In this IMG activity, you define the complete base hierarchy for product type Financing, with the allocation of set types

Hierarchy level and first category level
Under the financing hierarchy, you only create one category at the first category level and you do not assign it any set types.

Second category level
At the second level, you create one category each for:

Third category level
Under the category for financing options, create two additional categories, one each for:

  • Financing options with financing character (such as renewal)
  • Financing options without financing character (such as early buyout)

More information on hierarchies and categories is available in the SAP Library under SAP Customer Relationship Management → Master Data → Product → Product Category and Category Hierarchy.

  • No base hierarchy exists yet.
  • The Product Modeling Environment (PME) is integrated.

  1. Check the identifiers for the hierarchy and the categories and adjust them to your needs if necessary.
  2. Check the short names of the hierrachy and categories and adjust them to your needs if necessary.
    Please note that the names for the hierarchies and categories are only created automatically in the logon language.
  3. If you want to use automatic number assignment, specify the numbering scheme.
  4. Set the following flags in group frame Settings for PME:
  • Extended Processing if you want to use the value range constraint in product processing - provided you have defined the product as a configurable product

  • Configuration hierarchy if you want to use the value range constraint in product processing.

The system then displays the financing product types and financing product or financing option, along with the option type with a logical value range constraint at category level.

We recommend using the value range constraint. Once you have created financing products, you can no longer change the flags.
  1. Choose Execute.
  2. From the SAP Easy Access screen, chooose Master Data → Products → Edit Categories and Hierarchies and check the newly created base hierarchy for financing.
